Menno van der Meulen (September 23, 1968), The Netherlands) has been based in Berlin since 2022. He graduated from the Amsterdam Photo Academy in 2014.
His photography explores the raw essence of sexual freedom and boundary-pushing intimacy. With a bold and unconventional approach, Van der Meulen captures moments that blur the lines between eroticism and art.

In 2024, his photobook My Perverted Legacy was published, the culmination of more than a decade of intimate and often confrontational photography. The images, created between 2011 and 2024 in Amsterdam, London, and Berlin, immerse the viewer in hidden worlds of fetish, taboo, and desire. A significant chapter of this work was realized after his move to Berlin, where he spent a year documenting the iconic Kit Kat Club – a place notorious for its uncensored expression of sexuality.

Inspired by the aesthetics of Pasolini, Lynch, and Caravaggio, Van der Meulen has developed a visual language that intertwines beauty with provocation. His photography is never a mere registration, but a visual confrontation that challenges the audience to reflect on the complex and often controversial dimensions of sexuality.

This exhibition presents a carefully curated selection: works created in Berlin with queer openness at their core, alongside a number of his personal favourites.
