„Quilt 4 TIN* Archiv" (Giegold & Weiß 2024) zeigt persönliche und öffentliche Objekte von mehr als 30 internationalen TIN*-Aktivist_innen (TIN = trans*, inter*, nicht-binär), die für ihre Geschichte(n), ihre Kunst und Kulturen der Erinnerung stehen. 

Der Quilt ist eine radikale, handgefertigte Steppdecke, voller stofflich gewordener Motive. Die Zusammenstellung von Perspektiven bleibt naturgemäß unvollständig, aber als Archivierungspraxis macht sie Funken aus der zeitgenössischen Geschichte greifbar und knüpft an subversive Traditionen der Gemeinschaftsarchivierung wie den AIDS Memorial Quilt an, wo künstlerische und archivierende Praktiken zusammenkommen.

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION:

"Quilt 4 TIN* Archive" (Giegold & Weiß 2024) shows personal and public objects by more than 30 international TIN* activists (TIN = trans*, inter*, non-binary) who stand for their history(ies), their art and cultures of rememberance. 

The quilt is a radical, handmade blanket, full of motifs that were brought to life by the threads. The assemblage of perspectives remains inherently incomplete, but as an archival practice it makes sparks of contemporary history tangible and draws on subversive traditions of community archiving such as the AIDS Memorial Quilt, where artistic and archival practices come together.  

We have always been here! TIN* 4 TIN*! Let's archive! 

A booklet is part of the deliberately incomplete piece. Careful hands are allowed to touch the "Quilt 4 tin Archive".  

For the first time, individual works for sale by the duo Giegold & Weiß will complete the exhibition.
